FTMO
A trader-funding company from the Czech Republic, active since 2015. It sells evaluation programmes on a simulated account. Traders who pass them may be admitted to its trader programme, where they receive a share of the profit made in the simulation. Since December 2025 the group also owns a regulated broker.

Chapter 01
About the company
FTMO is a trader-funding company, founded in 2015 in Prague. Its model is simple to describe: you buy an evaluation programme, trade on a simulated account under fixed rules, and if you respect them and reach the target, the company may admit you to its trader programme: a second simulated account, of the same size, from whose profit it pays you a share. The account only grows later, through the scaling plan. It is not a brokerage company: it does not open trading accounts, does not accept deposits and does not execute orders on real markets.
Since December 2025 the group also owns OANDA, a broker licensed in several jurisdictions. It is a sign of solidity, but it does not change the nature of the relationship with the trader — see the next chapter.

| Founded | 2015 |
| Group structure | FTMO Evaluation Global s.r.o. and FTMO Trading Global s.r.o., plus their affiliates. Since 1 December 2025 the group also owns OANDA. |
| Headquarters | Purkyňova 2121/3, Nové Město, 110 00 Prague 1, Czech Republic |
| Management | Otakar Šuffner and Marek Vašíček, directors of all the group's companies, according to the legal statement published by the company. |
| Official site | ftmo.com ↗ — the only official domain |
| Rewards paid | The company declares over 650 million dollars paid out as rewards since it started operating and 140 countries served (figures published by the company, taken on 31 Aug 2026). These are declarations nobody outside can verify. |
How the company earns
From the fees paid for the evaluation programmes. Every participant pays a fee at the start; most do not pass the evaluation, and their fee stays with the company.
The structure of the rules follows from this: the company has an interest in the evaluation selecting, not in passing just anyone. That is why the loss thresholds are strict, and why the chapter on the rules that disqualify is the most important one on this page.
The second source is the funded stage: from the simulated profit traders make, the company keeps 10–20%, depending on the programme.
The model is legal. It is not, however, supervised by a financial authority, and that is the difference from our brokerage-company partners.
What sets it apart
Eleven years under the same brand. In a sector where dozens of firms disappeared between 2024 and 2026, longevity is not a marketing detail: it is the only available proof that a company has paid out consistently. It matters if you want to invest time, not just the fee.
A regulated broker in the group. Few companies in the category have one. It matters because it shows the capacity to get through authorisation procedures — but the licence covers the broker's activity, not the evaluation programmes.
- Since 2015
- Rules published in full
- Free trial account
- Regulated broker in the group
- No time limit on the evaluation
Chapter 02
The legal framework and who is liable
The relationship is not with a single company. The evaluation is bought from FTMO Evaluation Global s.r.o.; if you pass it, the funded stage is contracted separately, with FTMO Trading Global s.r.o. Both are Czech companies, with the same registered office, but they are distinct legal entities, with distinct contracts. The governing law is Czech, and disputes are heard in the Czech Republic.
| Entity | Country | Role | Reg. number | Registry |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| FTMO Evaluation Global s.r.o. | Czech Republic | contracting party — the evaluation | 092 13 651file C 332660, Municipal Court in Prague | registry record ↗ |
| FTMO Trading Global s.r.o. | Czech Republic | contracting party — the funded stage, reward payouts | 094 18 415file C 335283, Municipal Court in Prague | registry record ↗ |
| FTMO s.r.o. | Czech Republic | the brand's original company — not a contracting party | 031 36 752file C 227963, Municipal Court in Prague | registry record ↗ |
All three are registered at the same address in Prague, with the same two directors, and appear in the legal statement published by the company. A detail worth saying: the brand has operated since 2015, through FTMO s.r.o., but the two companies you sign with today were incorporated in 2020. The longevity belongs to the brand and the group, not to the contracting party.
Regulated entities in the group
The group owns OANDA, a broker licensed in several jurisdictions, an acquisition completed on 1 December 2025 after approvals from five authorities. What it covers: the brokerage activity of the OANDA entities, for their clients. What it does not cover: the FTMO evaluation programmes and your relationship with FTMO. If you take part in an evaluation, you are not the client of a regulated broker and you do not have the protections that come with that status.
What does not exist in this relationship.
The relationship between you and FTMO is contractual and commercial. There is no financial authority supervising it — the company itself states, in its own terms, that the services do not fall under financial-sector legislation, that it is not regulated by the Czech National Bank and that, consequently, you do not benefit from financial-sector protection. There is no compensation fund and there are no fund-segregation obligations, because you do not deposit money into a trading account. What you have is the contract, the company's public documents and its payout track record. That is why we verify them and link them below, at the source.
What else the contract says, in short
| Consumer status | If you register as a legal entity or provide a tax identification number, you are no longer treated as a consumer for the whole duration of the contract — so you also lose the rights that come with that status. |
|---|---|
| Cancelling the contract within 14 days | This is not about withdrawing money from the account, but about the right to undo the purchase. It applies only if you are a consumer — that is, a natural person buying for personal purposes, not for a company and not for your professional activity. Within 14 days of the order you can withdraw from the contract without giving any explanation, and the fee is refunded to you in full, within 14 days at most, to the same payment method. The right is extinguished, however, the moment you open the first simulated trade — not after 14 days, but at the first press of a button. In practice: if you want to keep it, do not trade. |
| Resolving a dispute without going to court | Besides the courts, in the European Union there is an administrative route: a state body that mediates disputes between consumers and traders, without a trial and without its costs. At FTMO this body is the Czech Trade Inspection Authority — a supervisory body, not a court. The route is open only to consumers resident in the European Union and only in the first year from the moment you first complained. A client from the Republic of Moldova does not have it. If the direct discussion with the company leads nowhere, the only option left is the court in the Czech Republic, in English. |
| Contract language | English only. By accepting, you confirm that you understand English and will communicate in English, including for complaints. |
| Liability cap | The company's liability is limited to the amount of the fee paid for the service in connection with which you suffered the loss. |
| Changing the terms | The company can change the terms with 7 days' notice. If you refuse the change, all contracts terminate automatically, without compensation. |
A reference that no longer leads anywhere. The FTMO contract, in the version of 4 August 2026, still lists the European online dispute resolution platform as a route to a settlement. The platform was abolished on 20 July 2025, by a European regulation that repealed its legal basis. The reference remained in their text; we do not repeat it and do not link to it.

Chapter 03
The evaluation programs
You pay a fee, trade on a simulated account while respecting a set of rules, and if you reach the target without breaching anything, you may be admitted to the funded stage, where you receive a share of the profit made there. Passing the evaluation does not guarantee admission — the contract itself says so. FTMO has two variants, which differ from each other more than it seems at first glance: not just in the number of phases, but above all in how the maximum loss is calculated.
The tables below show the main conditions. The button adds the detailed rows — technical specifications, useful if you already know what you are looking for.
Conditions common to all programs
| Programme types | two: one-phase and two-phase. There is no variant without an evaluation. |
|---|---|
| Simulated account sizes | 10,000 · 25,000 · 50,000 · 100,000 · 200,000 USD |
| Simulated account currency | USD, EUR, CZK, GBP, AUD, CAD or CHF — chosen at checkout and cannot be changed afterwards |
| Asset classes | currencies, indices, commodities, shares and cryptocurrencies — all as contracts for difference, in a simulated environment |
| Account types | Standard — 1:100 leverage, intended for intraday trading. Swing — 1:30 leverage, intended for overnight positions and news trading. Swing exists only on the two-phase programme. |
| Platforms | MetaTrader 5, MetaTrader 4, cTrader or TradingView — one is chosen at checkout |
| Free trial account | yes, at no cost. A single active account at a time, with a limited duration set by the company. The company states that it offers no guarantee and is not liable for the services during the trial period. |
| Maximum number of accountsFULL SHEET | the cumulative simulated capital across all your accounts — and those of persons connected to you — at the company and at group members cannot exceed 400,000 USD. The cap is calculated per client, per strategy and per beneficial owner. |
| Time zone of the rulesFULL SHEET | all daily thresholds are recalculated at 00:00, Central European Time. |
| What happens when the rules are breached | the company can deem the objectives unmet, cancel or reclassify trades, immediately terminate the services and contracts, cancel funded accounts and the related rewards, reduce leverage and impose risk, volume or consistency limits, temporary or permanent. It owes no compensation, and the fee is not refunded. |
The two programs, compared
| Specification | Two phases | One phase |
|---|---|---|
| Evaluation fee | Standard: €89 · €250 · €345 · €540 · €1,080 Swing: €99 · €279 · €379 · €599 · €1,080 | €79 · €199 · €319 · €499 · €999 |
| Simulated account size | 10,000 · 25,000 · 50,000 · 100,000 · 200,000 USD — the prices above are in the same order | the same five sizes |
| Is the fee refunded | Yes, 100% — but together with the first reward from the funded account, not on passing the evaluation | No |
| Number of phases | 2 — evaluation, then verification | 1 |
| Profit target | 10% in the first phase, 5% in the second | 10% |
| Maximum daily loss | 5% of the initial capital | 3% of the initial capital |
| Maximum total loss | 10% of the initial capital | 10% of the initial capital |
| Type of maximum loss | Static — the threshold is calculated once, against the starting capital, and does not move. You know from the start where the line is. | Trailing, recalculated at the close of the day — the threshold rises with the highest balance reached at midnight and never comes down. After a reward is withdrawn it resets to 90% of the initial capital. |
| Minimum trading days | 4 days, in each phase. The day you open a position counts, not the day you close it. | not applicable |
| Time limit | unlimited | unlimited |
| Consistency rule | none | Yes — the most profitable day cannot exceed 50% of the sum of the profits of the positive days. It is not treated as a breach: it does not close your account, but it blocks passing until you keep trading and the proportion drops below the threshold. |
| Profit split | 80% from the start, up to 90% through the scaling plan or the premium programme | 90% from the start |
| First payout | after at least 14 days from the first trade on the funded account, with all positions closed | the same |
| Account scalingFULL SHEET | +25% to the account balance every 4 months, up to 2,000,000 USD cumulatively | the scaling plan grows the balance; the 90% share already applies |
| Account typesFULL SHEET | Standard, for intraday trading, and Swing, for overnight positions and news trading | Standard only |
| Who it is for | For those who want to know from the start where the loss threshold is and are willing to pass two phases to get their fee back. | For those who want a single phase and the maximum share from the start, and trade evenly — the best-day rule penalises a single big day. |
The prices above are list prices, in euros, with value added tax included, taken on 31 August 2026 from the company's order form. They can be paid in euros, US dollars, Czech koruna or pounds sterling.
About the fee.
The fee is paid once, when buying the program. If the evaluation is not passed, the fee is not refunded — it is a cost that can be lost in full. The contract says it plainly: once paid, it is not refunded under any circumstances, unless expressly agreed otherwise.
A term that surprises.
The account is suspended if you do not open the first trade within 30 days of it being made available. Reactivation can be requested in the following 6 months; after that the contract terminates, without a refund. "No time limit" refers to the time in which you reach the target, not to the time in which you start.
Chapter 04
The rules that disqualify
The rules below are not formalities: they decide whether an account reaches payout or not. We write them as they are worded in the company's documents, with the source linked on every row. Where a rule does not appear in the public documents, we say exactly that.
| The rule | What the document says | Where it is written |
|---|---|---|
| How the loss is calculated | Both thresholds are measured against the account's equity, not its balance. Equity means the balance plus the profit or loss of positions still open, plus or minus swap, minus commissions. The difference matters enormously: an open position sitting in the red eats into your limit even if the balance still looks fine. Many traders assume it is calculated on the balance and lose the account without understanding why. | Trading objectives ↗ |
| Maximum daily loss | The limit is recalculated every day at midnight, Central European Time, starting from the account level recorded at that moment. On the first day it is calculated against the initial simulated capital. | Trading objectives ↗ |
| Maximum total loss | On the two-phase programme, a static threshold. On the one-phase one, a trailing threshold, recalculated at the close of the day, which can only go up. | Trading objectives ↗ |
| The best-day rule | Only on the one-phase programme. Exceeding the 50% does not close the account — but you have to keep going until the best day represents at most half of the profit of the positive days. | Trading objectives ↗ |
| News trading | Opening trades is prohibited when major global news, macroeconomic events or reports that may affect the relevant market are scheduled, as well as within two hours before a relevant market closes for at least two hours. | Prohibited practices ↗ |
| Overnight and news positions | In the order form, the Standard account is described as intended for intraday trading, and the Swing account as intended for overnight positions and news trading. Swing exists only on the two-phase programme and generally costs more — except for the 200,000 USD account, where the prices coincide. The wording comes from the checkout interface, not from a rule text — we have asked for written confirmation of the exact restrictions on the Standard account. | Order form |
| The two news rules, together | So that they do not seem contradictory: the prohibition above concerns opening positions in the window of a scheduled event, on any account type. The Swing account does not lift this prohibition — it changes something else: it lets you keep positions already open overnight, over the weekend and through the moment of a news release, instead of closing them the same day. The distinction is between entering on the news and staying in the market when one comes. | a combined reading of the two sources |
| Robots and algorithms | Allowed. Two limits: high-speed tools, artificial intelligence or mass data entry that would give an unfair advantage cannot be used; and a robot cannot generate more than 2,000 requests a day to the server, so as not to overload it. | Prohibited practices ↗ |
| Copy trading and shared accounts | The services are strictly for personal use. No access is given to a third party, no trading in coordination with anyone else, and no managing another person's account, not even as a professional. Legal entities cannot give access to employees, except for executive management. | Prohibited practices ↗ |
| Opposite positions and manipulation | Trades with a manipulative purpose are prohibited, alone or together with others, between connected accounts or accounts held at other operators — for example opposite positions opened simultaneously. Exception: opposite positions on a single simulated account. | Prohibited practices ↗ |
| Exploiting pricing errors | Using strategies that exploit errors of the service is prohibited: mispriced quotes, update delays, an external or slow data feed. | Prohibited practices ↗ |
| Artificial profit distribution | Strategies that spread the profit across several days without distributing the risk proportionally are prohibited — hedging, opposite positions on identical or highly correlated instruments, partial closes of the same idea across several days — if the aim is to get around the best-day rule. | Prohibited practices ↗ |
| Position size | There is no published numerical limit. Instead, the company requires compliance with risk-management rules it defines itself: avoiding positions substantially larger than the rest of your own trades, a substantially smaller or larger number of positions, and repeated cumulative exposure on one symbol or on correlated symbols. | Prohibited practices ↗ |
| Practices treated as gambling | The company reserves the right to take measures against activity it considers similar to gambling, unsafe for the continuation of its business or not aligned with its values. The wording is broad and is applied at the company's discretion — we quote it as it is, without interpreting it. | Terms, clause 7.4 ↗ |
| Inactivity | The contract may be terminated if you do not open any trade for 30 consecutive days or if you hold a loss of between 8% and 10% of the initial capital for more than 30 days. Trades made specifically to get around the rule still count as inactivity. | Terms, clause 13.2.3 ↗ |
Where a rule does not appear in the company's public documents, we say so openly instead of assuming. A rule that can close an account and is written nowhere is information just as important as a written one.
The list can change.
The company reserves the right to update the forbidden practices at any time and to decide, at its discretion, whether a given strategy falls under the list. We check the page quarterly, but before buying a program it is worth reading it yourself, up to date.
Chapter 05
How trades are executed
No real trading and no execution of orders on the financial markets takes place. Market data comes from liquidity providers and is used only to reproduce market conditions. FTMO does not publicly name a third-party broker through which the accounts would run and states in the footer of its website that the group's companies do not act as a broker and do not accept deposits.
Platforms
The platform is chosen at checkout, together with the account type and the currency. There are four options; the choice applies to the programme purchased.
| Platform | What for | Where it runs |
|---|---|---|
| MetaTrader 5 | all asset classes, market depth — the default option at checkout | Desktop, Web, iOS, Android |
| MetaTrader 4 | the market standard for robots and indicators | Desktop, Web, iOS, Android |
| cTrader | fast execution, cBots algorithms | Desktop, Web, iOS, Android |
| TradingView | trading straight from the chart | Web |
A cost you do not see in the marketing.
The contract provides that, for the simulation to be realistic, estimated trading costs — commissions and fees — are applied and included in the profit-and-loss calculation. Among them, a currency conversion adjustment of 0.7%, applied once, when the position is closed, when the currency of the position differs from that of the account. It reduces the realised profit and increases the realised loss. On a dollar account trading non-dollar pairs, it is noticeable.
The platform is supplied by a third party, and the company is not liable for it, nor for interruptions, delays or inaccuracies in the data. If you notice a technical problem and keep trading before receiving a reply, you may be held fully responsible for the outcome.
Chapter 06
The fee: what you pay and how
| How much | depends on the programme and the account size. List prices, checked on 31 August 2026: on the one-phase programme, between €79 and €999; on the two-phase one, between €89 and €1,080 on the Standard account and between €99 and €1,080 on Swing. The full grid is in the matrix above. |
|---|---|
| In which currency | you can pay in euros, US dollars, Czech koruna or pounds sterling. The reference price is in euros; if you choose another currency, the company converts at a rate derived from market rates and shows you the total before confirmation. If the payment is actually made in a currency other than the one chosen, the conversion is done by your bank. |
| Payment methods | are not shown at the order-configuration step. |
| Processor fees | are yours; the fee must reach the company in full. |
| Taxes | the amounts shown at checkout include value added tax. Your tax obligations remain yours. |
| Invoice | made available in your user account, usually within 14 days. |
| Refund | the general rule: once paid, the fee is not refunded. The commercial exception: on the two-phase programme, 100% is refunded together with the first reward from the funded account. On the one-phase programme there is no refund. |
| Refund in internal credits | the company may, at its discretion, offer the refund as its own points. One point is worth 1 euro; they can be used only for purchases from the company, cannot be exchanged for money and have an expiry date. |
| What you confirm at checkout | two separate declarations: that you have read the terms and that the country of residence given in the order is the real one; and that you have read the cancellation and refund policy. |
| Disputing the payment with your bank | if you dispute the fee with your bank or the payment processor, the company can stop the services and refuse any future service. |
Chapter 07
Reward payouts
This is the reverse flow: the money coming to you. It is paid by FTMO Trading Global s.r.o., a different company from the one you bought the evaluation from. Contractually, the reward is granted for the data generated in the funded account — not for a profit made on real markets, because no such profit exists.
| During the evaluation | nothing is paid. The contract says explicitly that you receive no remuneration based on the results of the evaluation process. |
|---|---|
| First payout request | on the 14th day or any time after that, counted from the first trade on the funded account. All positions and pending orders must be closed. |
| Verification | the company reviews the account and replies within 1–2 business days. After the invoice is approved, the payment usually goes out within 1–2 business days as well. |
| Profit share | 90% on the one-phase programme. 80% on the two-phase one, rising to 90% through the scaling plan or the premium programme. |
| Payout methods | bank transfer, instant card transfer via Visa Direct or Mastercard Send (up to 20,000 USD), Skrill (up to 3,000 USD) and cryptocurrencies. |
| Thresholds | the company charges no fee of its own on withdrawals, but there is a minimum closed profit: 20 USD for bank transfer and 50 USD for cryptocurrencies, to cover the transaction cost. |
| Carrying the reward forward | on the two-phase programme you can leave the reward in the account, to grow the balance and the distance to the loss threshold. On the one-phase one, you cannot. |
| Scaling | +25% to the account balance every 4 months, up to 2,000,000 USD cumulatively. Conditions: at least 4 months since the last scaling, at least 10% net simulated profit in those 4 months, at least two rewards processed in the same period and a positive balance at the time of scaling. |
| What is lost when the rules are breached | the company can cancel the funded accounts and the rewards attached to them. |
We do not publish success rates, average earnings or income examples — neither the company's nor anyone else's. Any figure of that kind works as a promise of profit, however it is phrased.
Chapter 08
Customer support
| Channels | website chat, WhatsApp, e-mail, phone |
|---|---|
| Phone | +420 910 920 310 |
| Hours and languages | the company declares round-the-clock support, in several languages |
| Official communication | takes place electronically, through the user account or at the e-mail address given at registration — an address that can no longer be changed after registration. |
If a problem appears
The company confirms receipt of the complaint and undertakes to resolve it within 30 calendar days, in writing. If it misses the deadline, a consumer resident in the European Union can withdraw from the contract or ask for a reduction; a client from the Republic of Moldova does not have this route. There is no supervisory authority to escalate to — what remains are the courts of the Czech Republic, and the proceedings are conducted in English.
Before anything else, tell us what happened. Most of the time the trouble comes from procedures that are not well known, and things clear up quickly. If a complaint really is needed, we help you word it correctly and in English — it is part of our support. Find us at the Chișinău office, 26 Pușkin St., or at 078 080 840.
Chapter 09
How to start, step by step
- 1
Start with the free trial account
It costs nothing and shows you exactly what the rules look like in practice. Our recommendation: do not buy a program before spending at least a week in the free variant.
- 2
Choose the program, account size, account type, currency and platform
They are all chosen in the same form and cannot be changed after payment. The difference that matters most is not the number of phases but how the maximum loss is calculated. If you are not sure, we talk it through together — free of charge.
- 3
Create the account and pay the fee
One user account per person, tied to an e-mail address that can never be changed. Choose it carefully. At checkout you confirm two things separately: the terms, together with the declaration that the country of residence you indicated is the real one, and the cancellation and refund policy.
- 4
Open your first trade within 30 days
Otherwise the account is suspended. Careful: at the moment of the first trade you lose the right to cancel the contract within 14 days.
- 5
Pass the evaluation
Respecting all the rules from the rules chapter, simultaneously — not just the profit target.
- 6
Verify your identity and sign the second contract
The funded stage is contracted separately, with the other company in the group. Passing the evaluation does not guarantee admission.
Identity verification: where the differences appear
The procedure resembles the brokers' one, but has a moment of its own: it happens only after passing the evaluation, before the funded-stage contract. That is, after you have paid.
Which documents and how many
identity document for individuals; for legal entities, the company documents and the beneficial owners' data.
Which status you choose
the status — individual or legal entity — is set at the first order and can be changed once, at a precise moment. The choice has consequences: as a legal entity you lose consumer status.
How it goes
identity verification for individuals, company verification for legal entities.
How long it takes and what a refusal means
incorrect or non-conforming data discovered at verification can end the process without a refund — one more reason to fill everything in exactly right the first time.
You do not have to remember all of it.
We go through verification together, free of charge, and if you already tried somewhere and it did not work, bring us the case — most of the time it gets resolved, the final decision resting, of course, with the company. Book ›
Who can participate
| Republic of Moldova | Accepted. Moldova is not on the list of jurisdictions the company does not serve, checked on 31 August 2026 on the official eligibility page. |
|---|---|
| Age | at least 18 |
| Who is not accepted | citizens and residents of Iran, Syria, Myanmar and North Korea; persons on international sanctions lists; persons with a criminal record for financial crimes or terrorism; persons previously excluded for breach of contract; corporate clients of the trust type. Separately, the company also does not serve clients from a list of countries set on its own risk grounds. |
| Other jurisdictions | clients from Australia and the United States are served by affiliated entities, on separate websites, with their own rules. What you read here concerns the global programme. |
| Multiple accounts | allowed, but the number of orders can be limited if other persons connected to you use the services, and the 400,000 USD cap applies cumulatively. |
The list is updated from time to time, at the company's discretion. We re-check it quarterly, but before paying it is worth opening it yourself.

Chapter 11
Conclusion: who it suits
It suits
The trader who already has a tested strategy and wants to put it to the test under strict rules, at a company present for eleven years under the same brand, with rules published in full and a group that includes a regulated broker. The free trial account lets you see what everything looks like before paying anything.
Worth weighing
The risk-management rules are defined at the company's discretion, in broad wording, and the measures can be applied retroactively to trades already made. The list of prohibited practices can be changed unilaterally.
Disputes are heard in the Czech Republic, in English, and the administrative route to a resolution without a lawsuit is not available to clients outside the European Union. The company's liability is limited to the fee paid.
And, most importantly: the fee is lost in full if the evaluation is not passed. It is not a deposit you can withdraw.
